"There is power in revealing the fullness of our lives." Wow -- basic truth, repeated in literature and love and life for the last thousand years. Clearly, it is part of the human experience, as every generation and every single individual has to learn it and relearn it during the course of what we in the West laughingly refer to as "maturity." Is anxiety immature? Does maturity bring les anxiety? Keep writing -- it's important and you are good at it.

Rob, I deeply appreciate your kind words and encouragement. I love literature for the ways it reflects and reveals the human condition -- and I love social media for letting us see our fellow humans more directly.

Thank you for putting this out there Lauren. I'd never experienced a & d until last year. It was overwhelming and debilitating. I also found that upon sharing, my friends were very supportive and most had also had experience of this in their lifetime. Now, mental heslth is a common topic of conversation amongst our group. I was scared to tell my employer at the time but they were amazing and glad to say I'm back firing on all cylinders. Now i feel stronger than ever and have the tools at my disposal to note when my mood is dropping and what to do to prevent another spiral. Talking is so important, as is self-care. It've learned that its ok to sometimes put yourself first. Another great piece of writing; cheers Lauren and wishing you all the very best xxx

Thank you so much for sharing, Del! I'm glad you're feeling stronger and are in a place where you feel safe sharing -- and I'm especially glad your employer has been supportive. Your willingness to share makes it safer and easier for me to continue to share. The more we wrap each other in support and care, the better off we all are. Wishing you continued peace!
