I think that this set of hard times you have been letting readers peek in on has sparked some GREAT stuff from you. Your Twitter feed and your commentaries have detailed that life matters even when life is hard. I think the thing you are reminding me of the most is that social media is, in the end, social -- we share and live life together. Well done!
Thank you for this, Rob! I sent the draft version to a friend because I was afraid it might come across as begging for sympathy. She reminded me that struggles resonate with people because almost all of us are going through something hard, and it helps to be reminded that (as you said) weโre in this life together. ๐ I so appreciate your encouragement and kindness!
I hate feeling overwhelmed and it can become a dark hole that sucks you in. I had my post published automatically last week, but I didn't do anything to advertise it. I had one visitor (my husband) the entire week. Clearly no one missed it. I changed the publication date to this week with the intent of doing better with the advertising, but that has yet to happen. I'm trying not to make myself feel bad about it, but I completely understand how you feel about breaking a promise to yourself.
I don't agree with those who feel social media adds to the overwhelm of our lives. It's a choice. There's no obligation to keep up with social media. I stayed off of it for most of my vacation and no one missed me...and I didn't miss anyone either! ๐ As you say, it's all in how you chose to use it!
I love your posts, Gloria, but I realize I see them through social media posts rather than remembering to visit the blog site myself. That's how most of us get our information these days -- things appear in our feed (or in our inboxes, in the case of subscription newsletters). It's one of the big reasons I appreciate social media so much. I get to see the things people I care about and trust are interested in. As a result, I learn about all sorts of things and hear from perspectives I might not otherwise encounter.
I understand how you feel, but I hope no one ever complains about the newsletter coming out on an exact date. For me, when creators release information/content that is relevant and true to what they are seeing and experiencing, it feels so genuine. You're doing great, and I find the information you share to be so helpful.

Thank you, Jessica! The encouragement and affirmation is truly uplifting for me. I so appreciate you and it!
