I am definitely a reader. When I take notes at lectures or seminars, I tend to write word for word what was said. Like you, it's how I learn! And here I thought I was the only one who usually skipped videos! I prefer to watch TV with closed captions. But I will listen to podcasts when I'm driving or running.

That's so funny! I tend to do the same (write word for word). My notes are almost transcripts ... unless I get bored. I used to think that's what everyone else was doing when they took notes! It's been an incredibly helpful trait for conducting qualitative research. I'm able to capture verbatim quotes that bring research findings to life. -- The research on watching tv/movies with captions is fascinating. Some reports say 70% of GenZ always watch with subtitles because of increasingly normalized accessibility practices, their desire to actively support accessibility, and their global connectivity, which means they're interested in watching shows from around the world and need subtitles to understand them. I'm planning to dive into this more in future posts. :)
