About Digital Hope

We intuitively make room for the experiences and perspectives of fellow humans we truly see. My experience as a community engagement strategist, dialogue facilitator, qualitative researcher, and former trial attorney has convinced me that the more people we connect with, the more we shed our fear, bias, and prejudice — opening us up to ways of co-creating a world where everyone has a voice and is treated with dignity and respect.

I believe in the power of social media to unite humanity because I have experienced it firsthand. Social media can amplify generosity, mobilize compassion, and blanket the world with kindness. But that’s not how a lot of us use it every day. Existing social media platforms nudge us into demonization and outrage. We forget there are human beings on the other side of the screen with different experiences, and different realities, who have different reactions to the things we post, the things we say, and the things we don’t say.

To move forward together in this diverse, complex, interdependent world, we have to consciously look for the things that unite us rather than divide us — the things that uplift us rather than anger us. The ongoing ugliness in both the online and offline worlds, leaves many of us longing for welcoming social media spaces where we can interact with fellow humans in positive, mutually beneficial ways. I believe we — individually and collectively — have the power to transform digital spaces into places where all humans flourish and thrive. And the stakes have never been higher.

I’m intentionally making room for new stories and new ways of thinking to understand where my perspective has been limited and to find ways forward together that include and benefit all.

That’s why I’ve launched Digital Hope: to reflect, inspire, and convene people interested in exploring new options for a more abundant, inclusive future by seeing the world through new eyes. Will you join me?
